There is no verified one-size-fits-all “best party” for every stage or all 91 classes. What we can do confidently is explain the decisions that make teams work: who absorbs pressure, who deals damage and who keeps the lineup stable. Use the templates below to choose roles that actually exist in your save.

Team template 1: Balanced early party

JOBCANDIDATE CLASS DIRECTIONWHAT TO CHECK
FrontlineWarrior and an appropriate advancementCan this character survive the opening attack?
DamageMage or Archer directionCan it finish the encounter before attrition wins?
Sustain / supportPriest directionDoes healing or support improve clear consistency?

This is an accessible starting structure, especially while you learn the game's positioning and item systems. If damage is already sufficient, focus the next upgrade on survivability; if nobody is dying but progress stalls, test more damage instead.

Team template 2: Faster clears

JOBCANDIDATE CLASS DIRECTIONPURPOSE
ProtectionWarrior or another verified frontline optionProtect the damage dealers
Primary damageMage or ArcherShorten fights
FlexA second damage role or PriestCover the stage's biggest weakness

Try this structure when survival is comfortable but the party is slow. Treat the “second damage” choice as an experiment: different enemies, gear and skill timings can change the result.

Team template 3: Three simultaneous squads

The full version supports up to three deployed teams. Start by deciding what each squad is farming or clearing. One can attempt your newest stage while another works on a repeatable resource target. The third should only take a task it can handle with the roster and equipment left available.

Do not divide your only strong frontline or support pieces among three teams simply to fill every slot. Compare returns after a short test and adjust where equipment or a class is genuinely missing.

How to diagnose a failed expedition

Your front row dies first. Check frontline positioning, survivability and whether better equipment is available.

Your team stays alive but barely damages enemies. Review the damage role, its equipped stats and whether it is attacking the intended targets.

You win normal battles but lose a Duel. Read that Duel's special requirements. A repeatable stage and a one-time challenge may call for different choices.

Three squads all perform poorly. Temporarily concentrate your strongest combination to identify which constraint is holding back progression.

How patches affect team builds

Version 1.0.8 added Strength Potential to Critical Damage and Intelligence to extra MP recovery. Accessories received stronger stats. That is a good reason to inspect current character and gear panels instead of copying a fixed numerical build from launch week. Version 1.0.7 also changed affix calculation and some stage enemies.

FAQ

Which three classes should a beginner pick?

A Warrior-like frontline, a Mage/Archer damage option and a Priest-style support direction are a sensible place to start when those classes are available.

Are Vanguard or Embercaller official classes?

No. They are characters from Quildra's fan-made mini-game, not verified Duelist roles. This guide uses the game's documented class roots and clearly labelled strategy templates.

Is the same team best for every area?

No. Roster, gear and stage demands change.
