v1.0.9 adds 10x Recruit and changes Tavern capacity. The number of recruitable characters is no longer fixed at 16: it now grows as the Tavern levels up. The same update adds same-main-class sacrifices for Potential Upgrade, giving duplicate recruits another possible use.
What changed in Tavern recruitment?
| FEATURE | OFFICIAL CHANGE | PRACTICAL NEXT STEP |
|---|---|---|
| 10x Recruit | A batch-recruit feature was added in v1.0.9 | Read the batch price and review each result |
| Recruitable-character capacity | No longer fixed at 16; increases with Tavern level | Check your current Tavern level and displayed capacity |
| Duplicate recruits | Same-main-class characters can be sacrificed for Potential Upgrade | Review team assignments before using a character as material |
| Recruitment performance | Recruitment lag and stuttering were addressed | Update before troubleshooting an old recruitment issue |
Single recruitment or 10x Recruit?
Batch recruitment is useful when you have already decided to recruit several characters. It also makes it easier to spend before checking the outcome. Compare the displayed single and batch costs before selecting a quantity.
The developer confirms the feature, but the patch note does not promise a batch discount, guaranteed high-rarity recruit, pity threshold or different odds. Do not assume “10x” means “ten for the price of nine.”
- Identify a missing party role or a deliberate potential-upgrade goal.
- Keep a budget for the camp or gear improvement you already need.
- Read the current recruit price and any shown conditions.
- Recruit, then compare the entire result before the next batch.
- Check existing squad assignments before replacing or sacrificing a unit.
How Tavern capacity scales
Before this update, the patch notes describe the recruitable-character maximum as fixed at 16. In v1.0.9 it increases with Tavern level. An old screenshot showing 16 is therefore not proof of the current limit.
This announcement concerns recruitable characters in the Tavern. It is not a statement that battle squad size or total deployed-team count increased. The publisher’s description still advertises three simultaneous squads.
No capacity-by-level table or upgrade-price schedule is published in this announcement. Compare the Tavern’s current capacity, next upgrade benefit and actual price in your own save before spending on a building upgrade.
Auto-Recruit: settings worth revisiting
Earlier updates changed Auto-Recruit controls: v1.0.5 reduced its talent requirement to level 1, and v1.0.6 added Select All to the talent selection panel. Revisit old screenshots that show missing controls or a higher talent requirement.
Select All is a selection shortcut, not evidence that the game should choose every recruit for your build. Inspect active filters, available funds and the kind of character you want before leaving recruitment running.
When upgrading from an older build, read the current labels rather than relying on launch-day button positions. The official notes do not provide a universal recruitment settings preset.
A useful order for reviewing recruits
- Immediate role fit: can the recruit cover a job your team lacks?
- Alternative build: does it offer a skill or trait worth keeping for a different stage?
- Other squads: would it improve the second or third team without weakening the first?
- Potential materials: if it is genuinely spare, does the upgrade screen accept its main class for your intended recipient?
This order is editorial advice, not an official consumption priority. Read the Potential Upgrade guide before sacrificing an established character.
Upgrade the Tavern or improve the Blacksmith?
| CURRENT BOTTLENECK | INSPECT FIRST | WHY |
|---|---|---|
| You cannot cover a necessary combat role | Tavern and Class Hall | A suitable recruit or unlocked path may help |
| Your roles fit but equipment is weak | Inventory and Blacksmith | More recruits may leave the same gear problem |
| You have enough recruits and spare same-class units | Potential Upgrade screen | Review a targeted character improvement before another batch |
| You cannot afford the planned next upgrade | Shop income and spending plan | Repeated recruitment has an opportunity cost |
Use current prices to choose between options; there is no verified universal “Tavern first” upgrade order.
Tavern FAQ
Is the Tavern still capped at 16?
Not as a fixed recruitable-character maximum: v1.0.9 makes it grow with Tavern level. The exact value depends on the current game.
Does 10x Recruit guarantee a better character?
No such guarantee is described in the announcement. Check any conditions shown in the game.
Does Tavern level increase the number of deployed squads?
The patch describes recruitment capacity, not deployed squad count. The game description advertises three simultaneous squads.
What should I do with duplicates?
Check their roles, skills and squad assignments first, then review same-main-class Potential Upgrade eligibility.
Where is the full capacity and price table?
The reviewed official notes do not provide one. Read current values in the Tavern rather than using an invented level table.
